Hello to everyone! My name is Jorge Alejandro Gonzalez Galicia and I'll be Under Secretary General for the 8th edition of this amazing MUN.
I’m a 21 year old Mexican- Guatemalan from Mexico City and a former student of Economics at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. My professional aspirations aim to become a diplomatic representant of the Guatemalan or Mexican government at the International community in order to defend the illegal immigrants that suffer constant violations to their human rights.
The modern world is facing serious challenges that can only be resolved throughout the empowerment of young people all around the planet. In a personal point of view , I think that if the old politicians have failed in their duty to eradicate hunger, poverty , racism, and insecurity , therefore it is our time to accept the challenge , and without any doubt the Models of United Nations are one of the best platforms to ignite the sparkle of change.
After being director at RomeMUN 2015, president in the 2016 edition, and chair /delegate in more than 40 simulations in Mexico and Asia, I am willing to give the best of me as under secretary general. Alongside Agnes Cigliano (SG), Alessio Mirra (USG), and all the organizing team of the International Careers festival 2017, we will have the objective and commitment to give an unforgettable experience to the attending delegates and guests.
My life goals and visions have been defined by my MUN experiences, therefore, I can conclude they are a change maker in the dreams of any young person disregarding nationality or race. With opportunities like this, change will only be a matter of time.
